Regenerating The Policy Of War By Proxy: American Foreign Policy And The Ukrainian-taiwanese Crises

Résumé: The present study purports to highlight the contemporary American foreign policy toward Russia and China with placing too much focus on the policy of War by Proxy. It further investigates the real motives behind the American unconditional support for Ukraine and Taiwan. This study assumes that the American involvement in the ongoing Ukrainian and Taiwanese crises is implemented through the regeneration of one of its Cold War strategies which is known as the war by proxy. This study employes the historical and analytical research approaches to offer a comprehensive and insightful analysis in support for the arguments. The main finding of this study reveals that the primary goal behind the American regeneration of the policy of war by proxy is to hinder the newly formed Sino-Russian alliance and to curb any potential counterweight to its hegemony and the new world order that was established following the end of the Cold War period.
