Résumé: اعتبرت الرحلة خلال العهد العثماني مصدرا تاريخيا هاما في تاريخ الجزائر خاصتا في الفترة العثمانية حيث صار العديد من الجزائريين على نهج أسلافهم وشدو الرحال إلى العديد من البلاد العربية، ولعل أبرز هذه الرحلات الرحلة الورثلانية، نزهة الأنظار في فضل علم التاريخ والأخبار، والتي تعتبر من أهم المصادر التاريخية التي لا يمكن الاستغناء عنها، حيث استطاع الورثلاني أن يعطي صورة واضحة للأوضاع السائدة في المجتمع الجزائري أنا ذاك، وكون المجتمع الجزائري مجتمع طبقي تخللته بعض الظواهر الاجتماعية، كظاهرة الاعتقاد بالأولياء الصالحين وقضية قطع الميراث.
