Protection Des Communes De Bordj El Kiffan Et Bordj El Bahri Contre Les Risques Des Inondations De L'oued El Hamiz ( W. Alger)
Résumé: The main objective of this project is to determine the necessary dimensions of a hydraulic system for the protection of the downstream area of the El Hamiz river against its centennial floods, which affect the cities of Bordj El Kiffan and Bordj El Bahri. This study aims to ensure the safety of properties and residents. In this project, several essential steps were followed. Firstly, we introduced the concerned area. Then, a geological and geotechnical study was conducted to determine the soil characteristics. Subsequently, a hydrological study was performed to analyze precipitation and quantify flow rates. Finally, a detailed hydraulic study was carried out using the HEC-RAS software to define flood-prone areas and assess flood risks. During this hydraulic study, various development options were proposed. Ultimately, one variant was selected and thoroughly studied.
