Résumé: الملخص: يهدف هذا البحث إلى رصد صورة المرأة في الجزائر وتونس من خلال كتابات الرحالة الأجانب خلال القرن الثامن عشر ميلادي، وعلى رأسهم الطبيب والرحالة الفرنسي "جان أندري بايصونال" (Jean André Peyssonnel). الذي زار المنطقة بين سنتي 1724 و1725م، وقد أعطت انطباعاته على أن المرأة بقيت في كثير من الأحيان أسيرة البيت والقبيلة، ومنعزلة عن كل ما يحدث في المجتمع. وقدّم ملاحظات ومعلومات مستقاة بطريقة أكثر عقلانية، من عادات وتقاليد وطقوس، واحتوت وصفا دقيقا للحياة اليومية للمجتمع الجزائري والتونسي خلال الربع الأول من القرن الثامن عشر ميلادي، وتمّت الاستعانة بما تركه لنا هذا الرحالة من ملاحظات. تمّ التوصل إلى أنّ هناك فراغا كبيرا في رصد الحياة اليومية للمرأة، وفي ضوء هذه النتائج المتوصل إليها وجب الاطلاع على كل ما كتبه الرحالة الأجانب والعرب من أجل الإحاطة بمختلف الأدوار التي لعبتها المرأة في مختلف المجالات. Abstract: This research aims to monitor the image of women in Algeria and Tunisia through the writings of foreign travellers during the eighteenth century AD, led by the French doctor and traveller (Jean André Peyssonnel). He visited the region between 1724 and 1725, and gave his impressions that women often remained captive to the home and tribe, isolated from everything that happened in society. He provided observations and information gleaned in a more rational way, from customs, traditions and rituals, and contained an accurate description of the daily life of Algerian and Tunisian society during the first quarter of the eighteenth century Ad. The observations left to us by this traveller were used. It was concluded that there is a great gap in monitoring the daily lives of women, and in the light of these findings, it is necessary to read everything written by foreign and Arab travellers in order to take note of the various roles played by women in various fields.
