Power Transformer Protection Using Numerical Relays
Résumé: An electric Power system is a network constitutes electrical components used in the generation, transmission and consumption of electric power system. However, electric power system’s components and machines are subjected to faults which prevent them from performing their intended functions. This fault could only be mitigated and not eliminated. Therefore, a better way to mitigate the fault is to protect the electrical components from damage using numerical relays. This project focuses on the protection relay of a two winding 40MVA power transformer. Specifically, in this report the numerical relays 7UT612 and 7SJ8021 from SIEMENS constructor are tested using CMC256-6 injection test set at the central laboratory of the national company of electricity and GAS (SONELGAZ- Algeria).
