Résumé: The current study aims to predict life satisfaction through social support and the ability to solve social problems among fathersand mothers of childrenwith mental disabilities which are registered in the psycho-pedagogical center for the mentally retarded children 1 province of Ouargla.So the following questions were asked: Questions of the study : 1- Is there a relational relationship between both social support and the ability to solve social problems and life satisfaction with the study sample? 2- Does isolating the effect of the ability to solve social problems from the relationship between social support and life satisfaction can diminish the strength of this relationship in the study sample? 3- Does isolating the effect of social support from the relationship between the ability to solve social problems and life satisfaction can diminish the strength of this relationship in the sample of the study? 4- Is there a predictive capacity for both social support and the ability to solve social problems with life satisfaction for the study sample? To answer the study questions, the following hypotheses were formulated: 1- We expect that there is a statistically significant relationship between social support and the ability to solve social problems and life satisfaction among fathers and mothers of children with mental disabilities. 2- Isolating the influence of the ability to solve social problems between social support and life satisfaction reduces the strength of the relationship among fathers and mothers of children with mental disabilities. 3- Isolating the impact of social support between the ability to solve social problems and life satisfaction can diminish the strength of the relationship among fathers and mothers of children with mental disabilities. 4- There is a predictive capacity for both social support and the ability to solve social problems with life satisfaction among fathers and mothers of children with mental disabilities. And after confirming the psychometric properties of the measuring tools used in this study, which are three tools (the scale of social support prepared by the student, the scale for solving social problems - translator-, the measure of life satisfaction for the pots of Nouibat kador 2013), and by using the descriptive approach of a predictive nature, it is applied to a sample of (135) fathers and mothers of children with mental disabilities. After collecting and unloading the data, the statistical treatment was carried out using the Statistical Program for Social Sciences (SPSS; 21), to obtain the following results: • There is a statistically significant relationship between social support and the ability to solve social problems and life satisfaction among fathers and mothers of children with mental disabilities. • Isolating the influence of the ability to solve social problems between social support and life satisfaction do not diminish the strength of the relationship among fathers and mothers of children with mental disabilities. • Isolating the impact of social support between the ability to solve social problems and life satisfaction do not diminish the strength of the relationship among fathers and mothers of children with mental disabilities. • There is a partial predictive capacity for both social support and the ability to solve social problems with life satisfaction among fathers and mothers of children with mental disabilities. Finally, the results were discussed according to the theoretical heritage in the topic and previous studies.The results of this study remain limited to its sample, methods and tools.
