Contribution À L’étude De Gonflement Des Argiles En Fonction De La Nature D’eau (eau Potable, Eau De Drainage Et Eau Usée)

Résumé: Clay soils under the effect of arrival and departure of water are subject to swelling and shrinking phenomena, they play an important role in the stability of structures based on this type of soil. These phenomena are usually governed by several internal factors (related to the soil and his intrinsic characteristics) such as clay mineralogy and external (connected to the environment) as the nature of water of hydration. Research works have studied several parameters influencing the swelling phenomenon; they are often controversial because of the complexity of the phenomenon. This work is a contribution to the study of the influence of the water nature on the swelling of clays. The problem was treated with an experimental approach of studying the swelling of two known types of clay; Clay of In Amenas and the one of In Salah, under the effect of four types of water taken from nature; distilled water, drainage water, drinking water and wastewater. The obtained results have shown that the nature of water of hydration affects the various factors characterizing the swelling of clay; this influence is not proportional to each type of water but it is also related to mineralogy and the density of the clay.
