Résumé: الملخص: تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى دراسة فلسفة الدولة الحديثة عند توماس هوبز (1588-1679) باعتباره من أهم مؤسسي نظرية العقد الاجتماعي، والذي قام بتفسير كيفية نشأة المجتمع المدني، كما أسهم في بناء دولة حديثة تقوم على أسس مادية؛ وذلك من خلال تصوره لقيام المجتمع المدني مخالفا كل التصورات السابقة، وبرر من خلال أفكاره الهدف الذي كان يريده من قيام هذه الدولة الحديثة وهو حفظ الأمن والسلام، وأما الأساس الرئيسي لفلسفة هوبز السياسية هي تأسيس الحكم المطلق. Study summary: This study aims to study the philosophy of the modern state when Thomas Hobbes (1588-1679) as one of the most important founders of the social contract theory, and that the interpretation of how the emergence of civil society, as shares in building a modern state based on material grounds; and through the vision of a civil society contrary to all previous conceptions, and justified through his thoughts goal that he wanted to do this the modern state which is the maintenance of security and peace, and the main basis for the political philosophy of Hobbes is the establishment of absolute rule.
