Résumé: يعتبر الاستهلاك المستدام محرك تحقيق التنمية المستدامة، أين يلعب المستهلك دور هام في العملية من خلال توجه سلوكه، يهدف البحث لتحليل توجه المستهلك بين دعم حماية البيئة أو السعي لتحقيق النمو الاقتصادي، ليتطرق لمختلف الأدبيات مع مناقشة انماط الاستهلاك لدى المستهلك الألماني وتموقعها ما بين البعدين، وقد اعتمد على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي لمناقشة مختلف الجزئيات، وقد خلص على أنّ زيادة الاهتمام بالسياسة الهادفة لحماية البيئة لدى المستهلك تساهم في تحقيق النمو الاقتصادي.
