A Comparative Analysis Of Digital Economy Performance In Gcc Countries During The Period 2018-2022

Résumé: The GCC's digital economy is progressing rapidly, as these countries seek to transform their economies into digitization to increase global competitiveness. This research paper seeks to provide a comprehensive comparative analysis of the reality of the GCC digital economy during the period 2018-2022. The study adopts a descriptive analytical approach employing data from Arab Digital Economy Index reports by analysing multiple dimensions of the index. Comparative analysis is used to assess the digital economy performance of GCC countries. The results of the study showed that all GCC countries recorded a marked improvement in the performance of their digital economy during the study period. The results also revealed significant differences in the performance of the GCC digital economy, with the UAE consistently leading in most indicators followed by Saudi Arabia, which showed good performance, while Kuwait lagged behind in most indicators.
