Résumé: This semiotic study claims that all relations, social and other, in Najeeb Mahfuz As-Sarab can be semiotically approximated to the title. This is not a novelty of proposition, for all titles of high texts should be of the sort. The study begins with an introduction in wich I discussed the semiotics of the title in terms of date and terminology, then I discussed its rethoric in general and specific, the discussion then narrowed its scope exploring Najeeb Mahfuz, the subject matter of his novels, and its content of symbolic signs, with special care devoted to As-Sarab. I then investigated seventeen relations, social and other, and I semiotically approximated them to the title of the novel.
