Résumé: Temporal paradox is considered a departure from the natural order of time, whether by returning the event to the past or trying to extrapolate the moment of the future. Time is the path that determines the elements of suspense, movement, and the development of successive novelistic events that are organized in a specific linguistic system that depends on the sequence of events and their arrangement. In this study, we have addressed the aesthetics of temporal paradox in the novel "And the Ghoul Ate the Moon", specifically the techniques of flashback and anticipation by the Algerian novelist "Ahmed Hamadi", this young novelist who is considered among the novelists who tried to advance the Algerian novel to keep pace with literary developments, especially novelistic works. His novel is also the subject of study, like other novels that employed temporal paradox because of its importance in constructing the novelistic work. In this study, we rely on the structural approach and with the help of the tools of description and analysis of the problem represented in: Where does the aesthetics of temporal paradox lie in the novel? How to employ these two techniques in the novel “And the Ogre Ate the Moon,” which varied between flashback and anticipation, and they are in turn considered the nerve of temporal paradox in the rhetorical work.
