Résumé: This study aims to identify the nature of the shift from traditional banking to Islamic banking, while highlighting the Malaysian experience and comparing it with the Algerian banking sector, thus explaining the importance of Islamic banking and its role in the banking system. After our review of the data and analysis, the study showed that Islamic banking in Malaysia has achieved remarkable success through its rational policy and future outlook and the development of two basic areas, namely the legal framework and the legislative framework for the success of Islamic banks. Malaysia’s experience is considered a pioneering experience because it adopted a dual banking system while highlighting the reality of Islamic banking in Algeria
