La Stratégie De L'algérie À L'égard Des Récents Événement Au Sahel

Résumé: The tragic events that have recently occurred in Mali with growing terrorist threat and exacerbation of Tuareg rebellion, did not fail to generate worries for Algeria's security and stability. The strategy this country has developed to counterbalance the consequences of these risks was neither inadequate nor circunstantial. It stems rather from the geographic contiguity, the ancient cultural and economic ties that link Algeria to the Sahel- Saharan Countries and from its proper experience of fighting colonialism in the past and eradicating terrorism in recent years. The Algerian security perception towards the Sahel-Saharan is based on the reliance on the country's own capabilities, cooperation with neighbouring states and on the opposition the foreign military intervention. In fact, it stresses the quest of a political solution based on the policies of national reconciliation and inclusive dialogue between the parties implicated in these conflicts.
