Zawiyas Facing Covid-19: Social Entrepreneurship In Crisis. The Case Of The Zawiya Alawiya Of Mostaganem And The Zawiya Tidjania Of Temacine. Algeria
Résumé: This article aims to highlight the response of religious and/or spiritual institutions to the recent health crisis; we will focus particularly on the solidarity role played by the Sufis Zawiyas in Algeria during the Covid-19 pandemic. The article draws on the approach of social entrepreneurship to crises as recently developed in the literature on associative entrepreneurship in order to explain the characteristics of solidarity activities conducted by the Sufis Zawiyas responding to the health crisis through the theoretical model of social entrepreneurship. We have chosen to present two Zawiyas models (Alawiya and Tidjania), based on internal reports produced by the network of associations sponsored by these Zawiyas on their solidarity work during the Covid-19 Crisis.
