Desert Agriculture Is The Food Basket In Algeria -a Case Study Of Some Southern Provinces-

Résumé: Abstract : This study aims to highlight the importance of desert agriculture in reducing food dependence and achieving food sufficiency in Algeria. It is a vital sector that contributes significantly to the national economy by providing food and enhancing the living conditions of the population in dry and desert areas. Algeria has made remarkable progress in the development of a variety of crops, including dates, grains, vegetables, industrial products and fodder in most of the South's States, especially in Arghal, Adrar, Biskra and Wadi. It has been concluded that desert agriculture in Algeria contributes to a proportion of self-sufficiency and diversification of the food basket for Algeria's sustainable development. الملخص : تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى ابراز أهمية الزراعة الصحراوية في الحد من التبعية الغذائية وتحقيق الاكتفاء الغذائي في الجزائر ،إذ تعتبر من القطاعات الحيوية التي تساهم بشكل كبير في الاقتصاد الوطني من خلال توفير الغذاء وتعزيز الظروف المعيشية للسكان في المناطق الجافة والصحراوية. وقد حققت الجزائر تقدماً ملحوظاً في تطوير مجموعة متنوعة من المحاصيل تشمل التمور ، الحبوب والخضروات والمنتجات الصناعية والأعلاف في معظم ولايات الجنوب خاصة ورقلة ،أدرار ،بسكرة والوادي ،كما تم التوصل إلى أن الزراعة الصحراوية في الجزائر تساهم في تحقيق نسبة من الاكتفاء الذاتي وتنوع سلة الغذاء من أجل تحقيق التنمية المستدامة في الجزائر .
