Résumé: يعتبر الوضع الصحي خلال النصف الثاني من القرن التاسع عشر من المواضيع الهامة في متابعة تفاصيل التاريخ الاجتماعي في الجزائر، وتزداد هذه الأهمية في الكتابة التاريخية بدراسة الوضع الموبوء الذي مس الضواحي، ومن ذلك وباء الكوليرا الذي اجتاح البلدية المختلطة فج مزالة ضواحي عمالة قسنطينة، الموضوع الذي أثاره الدكتور الطيب مرسلي في كتابه الذي حمل نفس العنوان خلال الأشهر الأخيرة من سنة (1885) وبداية (1886). وهو من المصادر المحلية الهامة تعكس معالجة صحية لوضعية وبائية ظرفية بقلم طبيب جزائري وأحد وجوه النخبة الجزائرية المفرنسة، ويعد في نفس الوقت مصدرا هاما في فهم فكر هذه النخبة ومدى تفاعلها مع قضايا عصرها وما يمس بني جلدتها من الجزائريين.
