Testing The Validity Of The Twin Deficit Hypothesis In The Algerian Economy During The Period (2000-2022) Granger Causal Test Developed For: Toda And Yamamoto

Résumé: The study focused on testing the twin deficit hypothesis and its applicability in the Algerian economy during the period (2000-2022), that is, studying the causal relationship between the public budget deficit and the trade balance deficit using the developed Granger methodology Toda and Yamamoto during the period under study, where the results indicated a one-way negative relationship in the short and long term from the budget deficit to the trade balance deficit, as stipulated by The twin deficit hypothesis based on the Keynesian analysis and model, which confirms the validity and realization of this hypothesis in the Algerian economy during the study period. تمحورت الدراسة حول اختبار فرضية عجز التوأم ومدى انطباقها في الاقتصاد الجزائري خلال الفترة ( 2000 ـ 2022 )، أي دراسة العلاقة السببية بين عجز الموازنة العامة وعجز الميزان التجاري باستخدام منهجية جرانجر المطورة Toda and Yammamoto خلال الفترة قيد الدراسة، حيث أشارت النتائج المتوصل إليها إلى وجود علاقة سبية على المدى القصير والطويل أحادية الاتجاه من عجز الميزانية إلى عجز الميزان التجاري، كما تنص عليه فرضية عجز التوأم المستندة من التحليل والنموذج الكينزي، مما يؤكد على صحة وتحقق هذه الفرضية في الاقتصاد الجزائري خلال فترة الدراسة.
