Application Of Ishikawa Diagram For Faults Analysis On Cathodic Protection Of Gas Network
Résumé: Cathodic protection must be applied to metal structures when they are in contact with corrosive soils or water, whenever economically justified. Metallic structures should be coated wherever possible for maximum effectiveness of cathodic protection. Pipelines for gas distribution are one of the applications of impressed current cathodic protection system. Although there are new non-metallic materials for gas distribution, these networks still exist and their decommissioning requires a large budget. However maintenance of the cathodic protection system is necessary. The work proposed in this article consists mainly on the study of a cathodic protection and the analysis of the faults that can appear on such system. Faults analysis has been proposed to maintain the protection and give more durability to the distribution network. The tools used are classic but the application is new. The faults analysis treated in this paper uses mainly the Ishikawa diagram which allowed a qualitative analysis of the main causes of faults. The contribution given by this article presents a real guide for operators to make decisions and optimize the availability of cathodic protection.
