Leveraging Waqf And Zakat As Sustainable Development Financing Mechanisms In Algeria: Insights From The Indonesian Model

Résumé: This study examines the potential of waqf and zakat as alternative financing mechanisms for sustainable development in Algeria, given the limited progress of traditional financing approaches and decreasing global financial support. It evaluates the current status of waqf and zakat in Algeria and draws insights from Indonesia's effective application of these mechanisms to advance sustainable development. The study concludes that although Algeria's waqf and zakat systems face considerable challenges and have not yet significantly closed the financing gap, adopting structural and legislative reforms inspired by successful models could foster a transformative shift toward achieving sustainable development goals in alignment with Islamic principles.
