Résumé: The French philosophy has not been exhausted by the downfall of the so-called philosophers of the Difference (Michel Foucault, Jean-Francois Leotard, Jacques Derrida, and Gilles Deleuze). On the contrary, the French philosophical scene continues to witness a constant philosophical movement, carried out by many names, from different trends, such as Alain Badiou, Étienne Balibar, Jacques Rancière, René Gérard, Catherine Mallabou, Marcel Gauchet, and others. Most of their writings have been translated into English, but what has been translated into Arabic is still little and in its early steps. The aim of the present translation of the interview, conducted by the journalist Jérôme Skalski, is to introduce the Arab philosophical reader, to the French Marxist philosopher Étienne Balibar, as one of the representative of the contemporary French philosophy.
