The Economic And Social Effectiveness Of Margaret Thatcher In United Kingdom
Résumé: Economic and social policies are considered a government’s most important domestic policies and are designed and built by the government to serve and develop their interests. Since the end of World War Two, Britain as a country has suffered enormously; thus, each cabinet and prime minister sought to create and improve economic and social policies in their own way and vision. Therefore, this research attempts to present a historical and analytical overview of Margaret Thatcher's social and economic performance in the United Kingdom throughout her time as prime minister. To achieve that final goal, this research will look at Britain from the conclusion of World War Two to the end of Margaret Thatcher's term in 1990. In our research, the historical method in addition to an exploratory, descriptive, investigative approach will be used. The significance of the study lies in understanding a transformative period in British history and evaluating the impact of Thatcher’s policies on the economy and society.
