Investigating The Role Of Critical Thinking And Collaborative Learning Skills In Enhancing Efl Students’ Learning Performance

Résumé: Abstract This research investigates the effect of soft skills namely “critical thinking and collaboration skills” on the EFL students‟ learning performance. Teachers are not satisfied about their students thinking skills and they find difficulties in evaluating and analyzing information, also EFL students are not aware of the importance of collaborative learning through sharing ideas and experiences in enhancing their learning performance. For that reason our research attempts to shed light on the importance of both skills in enhancing students learning performance. We hypothesized that critical thinking and collaboration skills are necessary to enhance EFL students‟ learning performance. This research is based on qualitative research approach, investigating a case study at Mohamed Kheider University of Biskra taking master one students as a sample for our study, during the academic year 2018/2019. For the reason of collecting data for this descriptive study, questionnaires have been distributed for both master one students( a sample of 43 chosen randomly) and 10 teachers of different modules. After the analysis and interpretation of data, the given result proved that both skills critical and collaborative learning help learners to improve their learning performance. Thus, critical thinking and collaborative learning affect positively the EFL students‟ learning performance and are important skills in the learning process.الملخص ٌعمل هذا البحث على اكتشاف دور المهارات الشخصٌة و هً " التفكٌر النقدي و التعاون العلمً " على اداء تعلم طالب االنجلٌزٌة. االساتذة غٌر راضون على مهارات طالبهم الفكرٌة ,حٌث ٌجدون صعوبات فً تقٌٌم المعلومات و تحلٌلها. كما ان طالب اللغة االنجلٌزٌة ال ٌدركون اهمٌة التعاون الدراسً من حالل تبادل االفكار و الخبرات فً تحسٌن ادائهم التعلٌمً . لهذا السبب ٌحاول بحثنا تسلٌط الضوء على كلتا المهارتٌن فً تحسٌن اداء الطالب التعلٌمً. حٌث افترضنا ان مهارات التفكٌر النقدي وا لتعاون الدراسً ضرورٌة لتعزٌز اداء تعلم الطالب اللغة االنجلٌزٌة كلغة اجنبٌة . ٌعتمد هدا البحث على المنهج البحث البحثً النوعً, حٌث ٌبحث فً دراسة حالة فً جامعة دمحم خٌضر بسكرة و كانت سنة اولى ماستر كعٌنة لدراستنا خالل العام الدراسً 8102/8102 لغرض جمع البٌانات لهذه الدراسة الوصفٌة , تم توزٌع االستبٌانات لكل من طالب ماستر سنة اولى ماستر ) عٌنة من 34 تم اختٌارها عشوائٌا( و 01 اساتذة ٌدرسون مواد مختلفة. بعد تحلٌل و تفسٌر البٌانات , اثبتت النتٌجة المعطاة ان كال من التفكٌر النقدي و التعاون العلمً ٌعمل على تحسٌن اداء الطالب.
