Résumé: This research deals with the topic of “The Discourse of Sarcasm in the Diwan of Abu Dalama Al-Asadi” Sarcasm is one of the most prominent arts that writers resort to to criticize the miserable conditions and natures prevailing in society. Writers use it as a means of expression in light of the pressures and tyranny of authority due to its flexibility, lightness, and cleverness. Sometimes sarcasm stems from a laughing spirit rather than a critical one, and Abu Dulama is considered the most famous of those who used it. The element of sarcasm in his poetry. What are the areas of sarcasm that he addressed in his collection, what are its causes, and what is his goal? This research focused on the most important concepts contained in the subject of “sarcasm” and its most prominent topics in his collections. We arrived at the most important results drawn from this research, the most important of which is that his sarcasm eased the affairs and burdens of governance for the caliphs, and the most prominent characteristic of his sarcasm is that it was of a gainful nature and through it he achieved his ambitions.
