Transforming Perceptions And Strengthening Relations: U.s. Soft Power In Algeria
Résumé: Rather than solely engaging with the Algerian government to improve diplomatic ties—given the limited leverage available—American officials adapted their strategy to include direct engagement with the Algerian public to build soft power. This article examines the evolution of American soft power in Algeria, emphasizing the strategies employed to cultivate it within the broader framework of public diplomacy. This approach aimed to attract Algerians to American culture, values, and foreign policy objectives, particularly through tools such as cultural diplomacy and social media engagement.
