The Algerian playwright « yousef baalouj » is considered one of the most prominent pioneers of Arab children’s theatre, as his theatrical works were distinguished by their richness and diversity, and their ability to address the conscience of the Arab child in an interesting and attractive manner. The plays “I Will Fly One Day” and “Saving the Scarecrow” are considered among Baalouj’s most important creation in this field, as they clearly embody the characteristics of character building and performance In his children’s theater. He succeeded in providing a distinct model for character building and performance in children’s theatre, through his reliance, on the diversity of characters, their realism, typicality, and symbolism, in addition to his interest in language, movement, music, and expression. Which made his two plays among the pioneering the theatrical works in the field of Arab children’s theatre, which were very popular with young audiences and won the admiration of critics.
