Résumé: The talk about the place occupied a prominent place in the novel, and therefore the topic of the research was marked by: The place and its connotations in the novel “The Last Man’s Groans” by Rabeh Bouchareb. This research dealt with the discussion of its subject, its causes, its methodological plan, and the types of places and their implications. This research raises a number of questions: What are the indications of the place in the narration of the last man's groans? What is the relationship of place with other narrative elements, especially time and personality? This research relied on the structural approach, which is based on the mechanisms of description and analysis, to reveal the semantics, with openness to the semiotic approach. Among the most important results obtained through this research are the following: The place is of great importance in the novel, not only because it is one of its artistic elements, or because it is the place in which events take place, and the characters move through it, but because it turns in some distinguished works into a space that contains all the novelistic elements, including accidents, characters and time. And the relationships between them. There are many types of place in the novel by dividing it according to the duality of the open and the closed, and to extract the significance that each place carries.
