حركة الإصلاح الديني في عهد الملك نابونائيد الكلداني 555 ـ 539 ق م

Résumé: استمد الملك نابونائيد أفكاره الدينية من التراث العقائدي لبلاد النهرين، ويظهر أن محاولته الإصلاحية كانت جريئة في ظل الأزمة التي عرفتها بابل، فالوضع السياسي والعسكري والاقتصادي أخذ يتآكل في ظل تهديدات الشعوب الآرية التي أخذت تترصد الفرص لاجتياح الإمبراطورية، فالنصوص الأثرية الواردة عن الملك نابونائيد تظهر أن الملك كان يدرك خطورة الوضع الذي يفرض عليه إعادة بعث نشاط حضاري جديد يعيد مجد بابل الأول، ولن يتأتى له ذلك إلا بمواصلة حملاته العسكرية في مناطق الجوار، وإحياء عبادة الآلهة المهجورة وإعادتها إلى مدنها الأصلية، ورغم المعارضة الشديدة من كهنة معبد مردوخ الذين رأوا في أفكاره الدينية إنزالا لمكانة معبودهم فإنه سار على منوال الملوك الذين سبقوه أقدم على إحياء التقاليد الدينية القديمة وتجديد المعابد. King Nabonaid derived his religious convictions from the doctrinal heritage of Mesopotamia, and it appears that his reform attempt was bold in light of the crisis that Babylon witnessed at the time, as the political, military and economic situation began to erode and the threats of the Aryan peoples grew and they stalked opportunities to invade the empire. The archaeological texts of King Nabonaid show that the latter was aware of the danger. The situation required him to revive a new civilized activity that restores the glory of Babylon I, and this would only be possible for him through the continuation of his military campaigns in the neighboring regions, reviving the worship of abandoned gods and returning them to their original cities, despite the strong opposition of the priests of the Marduk temple who saw in his religious ideas a lowering of the status of their idol. Following the example of the kings who preceded him, King Nabonaid was able to revive ancient religious traditions and renovate temples.
