Résumé: This study aims to identify the challenges faced by the Arab world in achieving food security in the light of the available possibilities due to its importance in the Arab world to enjoy economic, social and even political stability, as well as to identify the developments in plant and animal production, as achieving food security is linked to increased production, and then identifying the food gap that hinders the process of achieving food security in the light of the low rates of self-sufficiency of the main commodities of some Arab countries. The results of this study show that production must be increased due to its relation to the process of achieving food security, in which the agricultural sector is weak in its contribution to food security due to the association of agriculture with rainfall, limited resources of arable land and water, The slowdown in the growth of grain production. It also suffers from a lack of attention, which threatens food security because it is highly importable and therefore makes the Arab world suffer from food dependence towards the outside world to satisfy the needs of its citizens. Despite the increase in production, it was not enough to reduce The food gap, Due to natural and technological challenges, which resulted in increased reliance on imports to cover the shortfall, And the effects of the latter as a result of their association with prices in the international markets. Based on the results achieved, and in order to enhance food security, several strategies were adopted that would contribute to improving the nutritional status of the Arab world through enhancing Arab integration to face food security threats and achieving its strategic objectives, and work to develop strategic stocks to strengthen food security as well as activate the role of joint Arab action to achieve Arab food security.
