Résumé: The idea of developing emotional intelligence and relying on it as an important factor in achieving success in teaching a second language is supported by specialists in the field of SLA, as they provide great motivation and interest during the learning process. Therefore, this work aims to identify the attitudes of both teachers and learners of the English language in general on emotional intelligence to improve the linguistic achievement of English language students at the level of the University of Muhammad Boudiaf in M'sila. In order to conduct the study and achieve effective results, the descriptive approach was adopted by distributing a good questionnaire to thirty students in the English language for the first year of master's degree at the same university. A test was also distributed to find out the level of emotional intelligence for the same students. An Interview was also conducted with seven English language teachers for master's students at the same setting. The analysis of the data demenstrates that master one students have got from good to high level in emotional EI .However ,the findings of the questionnaire Analysis revealed that students do not build what a general understanding toward EI.
