Résumé: The aim of this study is to survey the views of The Saudi faculty members at King Saud University regarding the "Expertise Offices" established by some faculty members to provide consulting services to the public and private sectors. The population of the study consisted of all (1954) Saudi faculty members at king Saud University. The sample of the study consisted of (213) faculty members. The researcher utilized a descriptive survey method, and used a specially designed questionnaire, that was properly tested for its reliability and consistency, to collect the required data from the sample. The most important findings of this study were: the experience of establishing the "Expertise Offices" is perceived to be meaningful and has legitimate goals and targets; these offices participate in consolidating and developing partnership between the university and society, while at the same time strengthen the relationship between the university and faculty member; They provide a unique opportunity to train students, and an opportunity for faculty members to benefit financially, while serving the community; they preserve financial and intellectual rights of the various parties, and encourage faculty members to contribute to the development of the national expertise regarding advisory services; they contribute to the development of the local economy; and achieve high added values for beneficiaries to obtain premium advisory service with highly quality and reasonable cost. However, these offices could suffer from certain deficiencies both in performance and operation, or on the quality of advisory services provided as a result of the lack of a clear understanding of the role and mission of these offices by faculty members, or as a result of neglecting the regulations that have been set up to govern the role of these offices.The study concludes with several recommendations that could improve the operation of the expertise offices, and encourage faculty members to both participate in the current offices and establish new one
