Role Of Higher Education In National Development To Face Global Challenges

Résumé: Higher education has a significant contribution in improving the quality of human resources in a country. As an institution that can produce quality and competent human resources, higher education institutions also have a role for their graduates to face challenges in the global era. Higher education is also able to have a significant impact on the progress of a country in the midst of intense competition in various fields of life such as technology, education, health, and the global economy. This study uses an empirical qualitative method using secondary data based on literature research. The results of this study indicate that higher education institutions in Indonesia can run well and produce competent graduates if they apply a good management system, in line with the vision and mission of the tri dharma perguruan tinggi and are supported by government policies. In addition, higher education institutions in Indonesia will be able to score success if they are in line with the values of Pancasila as the basis of the Republic of Indonesia
