Traitement Des Eaux Usées Domestiques De La Station D’épuration De Houd Berkaoui Par Charbon Actif
Résumé: The objective of our study is the treatment of domestic wastewater through the valorization of urban sludge produced at the Haoud Berkaoui wastewater treatment plant. We focused on modifying the sludge recovered from drying beds and using it as a raw material for the production of our activated carbon using 15% sodium hydroxide. We also explored the adsorption phenomenon to understand its characteristics and importance. We compared the treatment efficiency of our activated carbon (CA-NaOH-15) and biological treatment with oxygen (O2) by measuring certain physico-chemical parameters of water quality (pH, conductivity, turbidity, TSS, COD, etc.) before and after treatment. The results show that activated carbon plays a crucial role in the treatment of domestic water, complementing biological treatment to remove residual contaminants.
