The Impact Of Ideology In Translating Political Discourse.
Résumé: Ideology has become a powerful agent in translation studies. It is acultural based phenomenon which reflects both linguistics social and political aspect. Translation has been investigated from different perspectives, namely critical discourse analyses approach which attempt to uncoverthe role of ideology in translation, in this regard Norman Fairclough’s assumption in critical discourse analysis is used claiming that “ideologies reside in texts” that “texts are open to diverse interpretation“ 1 This research is conducted to reveal the impact of ideology in translating political texts;furthermore it portrays translation ideological trend and judgement toward the source text. In regard to its ideological and political stand, in which an examination of cultural and political differences is dedicated between English and Arabic and vice versa. The analysis conducted shows the adopted ideology role in manipulating the political text and news discourse.
