Résumé: in the context of evaluating narrative techniques and studying the cultural and rligious impacts on storytelling, this study illuminates the phenomenon of the marvelous in contemporary Arabic novels through a semiotic interpretive lens. It regards this technique as blending reality with fantasy, rooted in myth, folklore, and religion. Ayman Al-Atoum's narratives demonstrate modernity's flexibility in assimilating Islamic themes, rearticulating them within diverse and innovative artistic frameworks, thereby enhancing the adaptability of Islamic discourse to various expressive styles. Notably, the marvelous in contemporary Arabic literature serves as a bridge between heritage and modernity, religion and art. This study also analyzes Al-Atoum's use of time, space, characters, and textual thresholds within a theological context, employing a narrative style that transcends the conventional to amplify the marvelous aspect of storytelling in his novel "Nineteen".
