La Classe Aristocratica In Sicilia E Il Trasformismo Nei Tempi Dell’unità D'italia : Analisi Del ʺgattopardoʺ Di Giuseppe Tomasi Di Lampedusa

Résumé: Riassunto: Questo articolo ha come oggetto l’analisi del romanzo il Gattopardo di Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa. Lo scrittore mette in rilievo gli atteggiamenti dei nobili siciliani nei confronti dell’impresa Garibaldina e quindi del nuovo potere dei Savoia. Nel romanzo si narra del declino della Monarchia borbonica e quindi la crisi dei Salina. Mentre il Principe Don Fabrizio assiste al crollo non solo dei Borboni ma anche della propria classe, il giovane nipote Tancredi decide di ʺcambiare bandieraʺ mettendosi con i Garibaldini. Con l’obiettivo di conservare interessi e privilegi, Tancredi sente la necessità di adattarsi ai tempi nuovi e comportarsi perfino con ʺGattopardismoʺ. Abstract: This article highlights the situation of the aristocracy upper class during the Italian unification through the novel Gattopardo, which was written by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa. The aristocrat families found themselves obliged either to stay supporting the the Bourbon kingdom or to ally with the kingdom of Piedmont-Sardinia. In this novel, the writer describes the prince Fabrizio, who stayed attached psychologically and morally to the previous system whereas Tancredi welcomed the winds of changes with great enthousiasm. The aim behind this radical change is to maintain the gains and to realize new benefits according to the current situation.
