Contribution A L’etude Des Performances De Coupe Et Des Mécanismes D’usure Des Outils En Carbure Avec Revêtements Composites

Résumé: The temperature during cutting represents a critical aspect of machining operations as it directly affects the longevity of the cutting tool. Cutting parameters and the material composition of the insert are fundamental factors that influence temperature fluctuations during turning processes. This study involved practical experiments and numerical simulations specifically focusing on X 200 Cr 12 steel during turning operations. Assessing the temperature of the cutting tool involved the use of a thermocouple within the experimental setup. Simultaneously, a finite element method (FEM) employing the explicit ABAQUS software, integrating the Johnson-Cook material model, was utilized for modeling purposes. The findings reveal that cutting temperature escalates with increased cutting depth, feed rate, and rotational speed. Notably, owing to the elevated conductivity of the insert coating, the cutting tool's temperature reaches significantly higher thresholds compared to uncoated inserts. The conductivity of the insert directly influences cutting temperature, with the feed rate and cutting depth emerging as the most influential parameters.
