Résumé: Improving communicative skill in classroom has always been one of the very complex tasks in the foreign language learning (FLL) process; it is regarded as the hardest challenge for both EFL teachers and learners. Due to its difficulties, students face many pitfalls while improving their level of communicative competence. The sample of the study was randomly selected and divided into two groups 20 students and 10 teachers. Therefore, the current study is meant to explore the importance of integrating Video Novels in the classroom to enhance the communicative competence of third year students of English at Laghouat University. It aims at examining the use of technological tools inside the EFL classroom with a particular focus on the use of Video Novel. Video Novel is considered as one of the essential tools of ICTs nowadays, which plays a fundamental role in creating friendly learning atmosphere that suits the learners’ needs. We endeavour to raise students’ awareness on how Video Novel can contribute to developing communicative competence inside and outside the classroom. It is hypothesized in this research, if the EFL learners are exposed to Video Novel, they will develop their communication efficiently and increase their motivation and classroom interaction. To achieve the objective of this study, we relied on a descriptive method that focuses on both qualitative and quantitative framework. To this end, questionnaire and semi structured interview were administrated to both teachers and students in order to find out their attitudes towards the importance of Video Novel as a new learning style in improving students’ communication competences. The findings of the study revealed that students are very interested in developing their communication competences using Video Novel. In turn, it enhances two important factors which are motivation and participation in the classroom.
