Résumé: Amongst the most problematic issues that students often encounter during university years is mastering phrasal verbs. Although using phrasal verbs creates hard situations in the process of learning, mastering phrasal verbs plays a pivotal role in understanding the English language and enhancing communication and interaction in EFL classes. Different researchers suggested several methods to enhance the mastery of phrasal verbs. The present study seeks to describe the significance of interpersonal intelligence, which is the sixth type of the multiple intelligences, and its impact on mastering phrasal verbs. An ex post facto design is used in order to investigate whether students with dominant interpersonal intelligence would demonstrate a better mastery of phrasal verbs and would use them more frequently in writing or not. The participants of this study were one group of 2nd year EFL students from the Department of English at Larbi Ben Mhidi University. A Multiple Intelligence inventory and medium-length paragraphs written by the students were used to collect data; participants were categorized into two groups according to their dominance of interpersonal intelligence. Moreover, the statistical t-test was used to add a statistical significance to the results. The findings of the research have shown that the effect of interpersonal intelligence on mastering phrasal verbs is significant. Some pedagogical implications are inserted in the study.
