Résumé: V Abstract The use of the internet is increasing the possibilities for language learning and teaching (Sallbego&Tumolo, 2015). Virtual classes use computer-mediated technology to facilitate learning, teaching, and communication processes. Henceforth, the present study aims to investigate EFL teachers’ and students’ perceptions of English teaching and learning in virtual classes. Moreover, it also aims to highlight the competences and skills required from teachers and students to cope with virtual teaching and learning. This study was conducted in The English Department at Mohamed Boudiafuniversity in M'sila. Data were collected by using a questionnaire for students ,and interviews for teachers . In this particular study, the findings indicated that the majority of students and teachers possess negative attitudes toward teaching and learning through EFL virtual classes. It also finds that they are incompetent, facing difficulties in conducting online classes due to the lack of the necessary skills, and proper training to manage online classes. Technical issues also are one of major problems that affect processing online classes.
