Caractéristiques Cliniques Et Profil Évolutif Des Thromboses Veineuses Cérébrales Au Service De Neurologie Du Chu Tlemcen

Résumé: Abstract Introduction - Cerebral venous thrombosis is a rare condition linked to an occlusion of the dural sinuses or an occlusion of the cortical veins. It is characterized by a clinical and radiological polymorphism. The aim of our study is to describe the clinical and radiological characteristics, to identify the different etiologies, and to assess the evolutionary profile of cerebral venous thrombosis at Tlemcen University Hospital. Methods - It’s a descriptive study carried out between April 2016 and April 2018. We collected 96 patients, aged over 18 years, for whom we studied the epidemiological, clinical, and paraclinical data Results - The mean age was 36.65 ± 6.1 years with a female predominance (sex ratio 0.1). The clinical presentation was subacute in 74% of the cases. Intracranial hypertension syndrome was the most common presentation (75.6%). The main site of the venous thrombus was the superior sagittal sinus (45%). The brain scan revealed hemorrhagic venous infarction in 74% of cases. The etiologies were multiple, dominated by the postpartum (37.5%). The evolution was favorable in 75% of the cases. Conclusion - Cerebral venous thrombosis is a relatively common condition in Tlemcen. This thrombotic disease is not as rare as it is thought, requiring early diagnosis and emergency manageme
