Qualité Des Eaux De L’aquifère Du Continental Intercalaire (ci) D’oued Righ

Résumé: The valley of Oued Righ is located in the south-east of Algeria. It is part of the aquifer system of the northern Sahara (SASS), the latter is made up in the valley of Oued Righ of three aquifers, they are the aquifer of the intercalary continental "CI", the deepest, the aquifer of the terminal complex "CT" and the free surface aquifer. The Continental Intercalaire aquifer consists of sands and sandstones with clay intercalations, Its thickness varies between 200m and 350m. this water table is captured at depths exceeding in the study area 1550m. Interpretation of hydrochemical data from 14 boreholes collecting the Continental Intercalaire (CI) water table reveals three types of water: calcium chloride (57.14%), magnesium chloride (28.57%) and sodium chloride (14.28%). The waters of the Continental Intercalaire aquifer are very mineralized and very hard. The measured values of chlorine, potassium and total hardness exceed the standards recommended by the WHO and the Algerian standards for drinking water. The other physicochemical parameters being at the potability limit with reference to the previous standards. The application of the water quality index method shows that the CI waters are of very poor (92.86%) to poor (7.14%) quality. The agricultural water quality assessment was assessed using the parameters of electrical conductivity (EC), sodium adsorption ratio (SAR), sodium percentage (Na%), ratio Kelly's (KR), Permeability Index (PI), Magnesium Hazard (MH) and Residual Sodium Carbonate (RSC). The results showed that the waters of the IC aquifer are of poor irrigation quality based on EC, Wilcox diagram and salinity diagram (Richards).
