Résumé: الملخص: شكّلت مسألة الترويج للديمقراطية أحد المبادئ والاهتمامات الرئيسية للسياسة الخارجية الأمريكية، حيث زخر الخطاب الأمريكي الرسمي برصيد معتبر من التعابير ذات الرمزية الأيديولوجية، و الذي آمن بأن عملية تصدير النموذج الديمقراطي، يدخل في سياق المهام التي كُلّفت بها الولايات المتحدة باعتبارها تقود الأنظمة الغربية، وحتى نستوضح مضمون هذا التوجه، نستقرأ في هذه الدراسة التصور الأمريكي لقضايا الديمقراطية والالتزام بدعمها، وهو الهدف الذي تستند عليه أهمية الدراسة من حيث أن مقاربة استقرار النظام الدولي يستوجب تحليل توجهات وسلوكات الولايات المتحدة. لذلك تساءلنا عن مدى توافق تحركات السياسة الخارجية الأمريكية في مقاربتها أزمة الدمقرطة في سوريا مع تصوراتها لمسارات وأهداف الترويج الديمقراطي، وهو ما توصلت الدراسة إلى عكسه تماما حيث وجدت أن المسعى الأمريكي كان مبنيا بالأساس على غرض تحويل سوريا إلى دولة فاشلة ومصدرة لتهديدات أمنية على نطاق واسع. Abstract: The issue of promotion of democracy was one of the main principles and concerns of American foreign policy. The American official discourse was full of ideological symbolic expressions, in a belief that the process of exporting the democratic model represents a task that has been entrusted to the United States as a leader of Western regimes. Therefore, for the purpose to clarify the content of this orientation, the present study explores the American perception of the commitment of democracy, so that to comprehend the importance of the stability of the international system which requires an analysis of the trends and behaviors of the United States. In addition, it tends to understand to what extent the American foreign policy moves, in its approach to the democratization crisis in Syria, are compatible with its perceptions of the tracks and objectives of democratic promotion. As a result, the present paper came to conclude a completely opposite response, that the American endeavor was based mainly on the purpose of turning Syria into a failed state and a source of widespread security threats.
