Résumé: الملخص باللغة العربية: كانت الجزائر محطة زيارة الكثير من المفكرين والرحالة والعملاء في أواحر القرن التاسع عشر وبدايات القران العشرين، ومن هؤلاء الشيخ الإمام محمد عبده الذي زارها سنة 1903، وهذه الدراسة تسعى إلى الإجابة على جملة من الأسئلة أبرزها : لماذا هذه الزيارة في فاتحة القرن العشرين؟ وهل كان للإدارة الاستعمارية دور ما في تنظيم هذه الزيارة؟ وكيف تعاملت مع الشيخ الإمام خلالها؟ وما هي أبرز الأنشطة التي قام بها في مدينة الجزائر؟ ومن هي الشخصيات الجزائرية التي قابلها خلال هذه الزيارة؟ ABSTRACT : Algeria was a visiting station for many thinkers, travelers and clients at the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century, including Sheikh Imam Muhammad Abduh, who visited it in 1903, and this study seeks to answer a number of questions, most notably: Why this visit at the beginning of the twentieth century? Did the colonial administration have a role in organizing this visit? And how did they deal with Sheikh Imam during it? What are the most prominent activities that he did in the city of Algiers? Who are the Algerian personalities he met during this visit?
