Résumé: "This thesis deals with synthesis and characterization of new azo compounds. The structural studies and physico-chemical characterizations of these compounds was carried out using several techniques such as: IR, nuclear magnetic resonance of carbon (NMR13C), nuclear magnetic resonance of proton (NMR1H), elemental analysis and structural study by X-ray single-crystal diffraction techniques. The synthesis by the conventional method of diazotizing a primary amine followed by the coupling of the β-naphthol led us to obtain four novel azo compounds. The (E)-1-(2-phenylazo)-2-naphthol was obtained by diazotation of aniline followed by copulation with β– naphthol , this compound crystallizes in the Monoclinic space group P21/c, with the volume of 1235.80 (18) Å 3and unit cell parameters: a = 13.0800 (12) Å, b = 13.5170 (13) Å, c = 7.0080 (4) Å. β = 94.140 (6) ° The (E)-1-(2-cyanophenylazo)-2-naphthol was obtained by diazotation of 2-cyanoaniline followed by copulation with β– naphthol, this compound crystallizes in the Triclinic space group P-1, with the volume of 1312.92 (11) Å 3 and unit cell parameters: a = 7.1296 (3) Å, b = 12.9532 (7) Å, c = 15.6181 (8) Å. α = 111.562 (2) °, β = 90.536 (2) °, γ= 100.779 (2) °. The (E)-1-(3-acetyl)-2-naphthol was obtained by diazotation of 3-cyanoaniline followed by copulation with β–naphthol, this compound crystallizes in the Orthorhombic space group Pca21, with the volume of 2798 (3) Å 3and unit cell parameters: a = 15.965 (5) Å, b = 5.807 (5) Å, c = 30.185 (5) Å. The (E)-1-(5-tert-butyl-2-hydroxyphenylazo)-2-naphthol was obtained by diazotation of 5-tert-butyl-2-hydroxyaniline followed by copulation with β– naphthol , this compound crystallizes in the Monoclinic space group P21/m, with the volume of 804.3 (8) Å 3and unit cell parameters : a = 9.696 (5) Å, b = 6.606 (5) Å, c = 13.385 (5) Å, β = 110.249 (5) °. "
