Résumé: Monetary union project and the issuance of a single currency has seen significant interest by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and the approval of the timetable for monetary union as a real breakthrough for the monetary union project, and has seen the GCC monetary union project conditions that not adversely affect the project but, it justifies the repeated postponements of the issuance of currency , including linking Kuwait its currency to a basket of currencies, and the withdrawal of Oman and the UAE, and provided the sovereign debt crisis in the euro and its impact zone in the single European currency exchange, material for the criticism , which undoubtedly confused plans and contributed to the schedule change, but it did not adversely affect the project and the opportunities success, the GCC countries have worked during the period from 2002 to 2010, to complete the steps of economic integration and access for monetary union, which culminated in the establishment of the Monetary Council on 30th March, 2010, and is considered the optimum currency area of the theories that govern on the success of the composition of monetary union , so we studying the possibility of an optimal currency area in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) using vector model with autoregressive structural SVAR, and the use of an extended annual data from the period 1980-2012, and the results show that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) combined do not constitute an optimal currency area
