The Importance Of Startups In Economic Development In Algeria

Résumé: This paper explores the critical role of startups in fostering economic development in Algeria, a country traditionally dependent on hydrocarbons. As Algeria faces significant economic challenges, including high unemployment and the need for diversification, startups offer promising solutions through innovation, job creation, and economic diversification. The paper examines how startups contribute to technological advancement, promote entrepreneurship, and drive competitiveness in emerging sectors such as technology, agriculture, and renewable energy. Despite their potential, startups in Algeria face challenges such as limited access to financing, bureaucratic hurdles, and inadequate infrastructure. The paper also discusses government initiatives aimed at supporting the startup ecosystem and provides recommendations for enhancing these efforts to ensure startups can play a transformative role in Algeria’s economic future
