Optimisation De La Consommation Énergétique D’un Habitat Saharien Par Des Techniques Passives

Résumé: Southern Algeria classified as a hot and arid region where thermal discomfort is widely felt. On this Saharan climate, summer thermal comfort is based on the cooling strategy because the effect of temperature (which is too high) is the source of discomfort throughout this period. The underground construction which was the oldest form of shelter known to man, which could be traced back to ancient times, but today it is unknown to the general public, remains one of the bioclimatic strategies that save energy as much as possible and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by conserving a natural environment.This work aims to optimize energy consumption in a house located in Ouargla (South / East of Algeria). In the present work, the underground construction was studied experimentally and numerically. The modelling of the underground room structure of the underground room and the evolution of the temperature of the interior air and the heating and cooling needs were made by means of the softwareTRNSYS 18. The data taken inside the underground room were then compared with the results of the modelling and simulation of the given room. The results obtained show that the air temperature and relative humidity measured during the hottest month (August) by the sensors installed inside the underground room vary between 28-29°C and 20-30%, respectively, where thermal comfort is ensured without the need for cooling energy (No need for air conditioning).The total saving in cost of the consumed electricity for all summer months of 1 year reached 91 247.31 DZD/year (654.27 USD/year), with an estimated payback period of about 4 years.Significant energy savings can be ensured by investing in this type of passive techniques, which leads to energy efficiency, rationalization of energy use and almost negligible environmental impact
