Determinants Of Commercial Banks’ Financial Stability: Evidence From Mena Countries
Résumé: This study seeks to investigate the determinants of commercial banks’ financial stability for a sample of 14 Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Countries, over the 2011–2020 periods, using balanced panel data for a sample of 132 banks. In general, the empirical findings show that all the explanatory variables represented in financial indicators related to determinants can reliably achieve the banking sector’s financial stability of the MENA countries. They are important indicators for predicting financial stability for commercial banks. Specifically, the results show that level of banking competition, banking efficiency, financial inclusion, and the level of commercial banks’ performance are closed and positively related to financial stability. The results also show that the financial development measured by stock market capitalization has a negative and statistically significant effect on commercial banks’ financial stability.
