Résumé: يمثل التراث الشعبي بشقيه المادي واللامادي رصيدا ثقافيا غنيا وبعدا تاريخيا وحضاريا عميقا، فهو أحد أهم مقومات هويتنا الثقافية التي أصبحنا ننشدها اليوم، في زمن زالت فيه الحدود القطرية، وكثر فيه التواصل والاحتكاك بين الشعوب، من هذا المنطلق خصصنا هذه الورقة البحثية لحرفة النسيج التقليدي، التي تعد جزءا من هذا الرصيد الثقافي، والفن الشعبي المتأصل، وتحديدا الزرابي التي تمثل نموذجا أساسيا لتمثيله فهي كنظام تقني، ونسق فني ثقافي تشكل مرجعية سوسيو- ثقافية، تعبر عن ما يحتويه المخيال الاجتماعي من أفكار، قيم، معتقدات ومعان تختزل الهوية الثقافية وتشهد على العمق الحضاري لهذا الموروث الثقافي وأيقونة الفن الشعبي الأصيل. Abstract: Cultural heritage, both in its tangible and intangible forms, represents a rich cultural asset and it reflects a deep historical and civilizational dimension which makes it one of the most important components of cultural identity at a time when borders are dissolved and communication and interaction between peoples have increased. In this regard, this research papers is concerned with the craft of traditional weaving which is a part of said cultural asset and historically rooted popular culture, with carpets being an essential representative of traditional weaving as they show case its most important elements. As a technical system, that is cultural technology, and as a cultural and artistic system with a social ritual dimension, carpets are a socio-cultural point of reference that conveys the outcomes of technical achievements and experiences and artistic creations as they express the social imagination and everything it has to offer from ideas, meanings, values, and beliefs. They are a symbolic system that stores cultural identity; they express the cultural depth of heritage; and are an icon of authentic popular art that expresses the intimacy of national character.
